Miami Art Week
There was nothing more exciting in my career ( ok, maybe my first solo show in Tribeca when I was really young) than hearing that I was invited to display my work during Art Basel week in Wynwood-- Miami's up and coming art district.
I displayed with Spectrum Miami in an enormous trendy downtown space. Many of my clients, friends and family flew in to support me. But meeting new artists, galleries, designers and collectors opened my audiences to a new level.
I never worked so hard in my life...It was truly all worth the toil and sweat...literally. My art now gets the attention it deserves and I have since been invited to display my paintings in South America, France, Italy and Vienna. I have decided to display with a charming gallery this April at New York's premiere art show - Art Expo. Details soon ;)...art expo has been postponed due to Covid-19.
Zohara Art Gallery
This past summer I had the pleasure of meeting a "curating couple" who are also the owners of Zohara Gallery in Lakewood NJ. The white walled gallery is sleek and chic; giving off a cool Soho vibe. But the art that hangs on the walls is ninety eight percent Judaic with a few decorative wall art paintings mixed in. The artists who exhibit at the space are all members of the current Jewish Art scene.
I felt honored to be offered the opportunity to hang several of my Judaic works, namely my Kristallnacht paintings along with some of my iconic Jerusalem archways as well. If you ever find yourself in South Jersey along the luxurious Avenue Shops, stop into Zohara! It's an art oasis that will welcome you with open arms and alluring choices in fine art.
The Yellow Door Murano Gallery
In December of 2017, I exhibited several of my paintings at an eclectic art Gallery in Brooklyn's Midwood area. I exhibited alongside many female artists and the opening show was hosted by the Yellow Door and then curator Bonnie Murano. The reception was also a night of collaboration as many interior designers who work within the Syrian community in Brooklyn and Deal were present and interested. It was a great venue and had a great vibe but the Gallery itself was too short lived. ...... The next December I went to Miami Art Basel week...
Architecture Past and Present
In 2008, the Edmund J Safra Synagogue welcomed Peshi's paintings into their elegant space. The artist was once again offered a solo show. The artist herself named the exhibition Architecture Past and Present. While Peshi displayed many modern and abstract paintings of Judaic and secular content, it was her Kristallnacht series which gained much attention. Many of those works had sold that night and in the months that followed. It was at that juncture in her artistic journey that Peshi realized she would need to travel more and explore her heritage in order to make more meaningful art.
Urban Synagogues
In 2006 at the young age of twenty five, fresh out of Art School, Peshi had her first solo show in Synagogue for the Arts in Tribeca, N.Y. The venue was a well respected Gallery whose shows were always listed in Gallery Guide, the city's primary art publication of what and when would be exhibiting. The show was named "Urban Synagogues" by the curator Maralyn Sontag who accepted almost thirty works of art into the showcase. The paintings and cahrcoal drawings were all of synagogues from around the globe. many of which Peshi had not visited but rather researched prior to painting them. The show was well attended and almost all the art sold out on opening night. It gave the artist great encouragement to proceed forward with her art career and exhibitions.
The Jewish Art Salon
The Jewish Art Salon is an artist group that I have been apart of since my days as an art student. Founded and run by renowned artist Yonah Verwer, its members are sophisticated contributors to the Jewish art world. When Yonah, its president and Toby Kahn, an extraordinary and famed, abstract New York-based painter (who was also my Professor at SVA) introduced a Juried Art Show in conjunction with Beth Torah in Brooklyn, NY, I jumped at the opportunity to participate. Many months later, one of my Kristallnacht paintings titled "Aftermath" was accepted into the show. I have always enjoyed the many artist talks hosted by the Jewish Art Salon and the multitude of personalities I have come in contact with at its many meetings and artists talks.
