Blossoms of Bakka. Acrylic painting and oil stick on canvas. 24x36

This painting was inspired by a walk thru the charming neighborhood of Bakka in Jerusalem. A lone flowerpot stood by an entry way to a sweet home and I could not help but marvel at the beautiful flowers that were blooming on that cold January day. The entire town embodied a unique atmosphere. I had the idea to add the Israeli flags as they were draped in a nearby fruit store. I hope the colors of the Jerusalem stone are very visible. the complimentary colors of yellow and violet are painted in an expressionistic style throughout.
