I captured the photograph, used to create this painting from the steps of Ville Franche - a port city in southern France. I remember seeing the boats in the distance, and feeling very much in a world of fantasy. Spanish rooftops and small cafes and awnings were just calling me. The town was quite empty that day so I had time to walk around take photos and explore. I painted this piece to debut at a show during art Basel week in Miami. it was a hit! In reality it is framed and large. it has been used in an impressive staging in a beautiful home above the MoMa - Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
